Water, Stone, Light, Repeat.
A Natural Lagoon Pool Built to Move With the Landscape Around It
The Project
This backyard was designed to feel immersive from every angle.
Instead of separating the pool from the surrounding landscape, the entire project was planned as one connected environment where water, stone, lighting, and planting work together naturally.
Anderson Poolworks designed and built a large freeform lagoon-style pool with an integrated raised spa positioned near the main patio area for easy access and visibility across the property. Multiple rock waterfalls and natural stone outcroppings were built into the perimeter of the pool to create movement, sound, and visual depth throughout the space.
THOUGHTFUL TOUCHES
A shallow Baja shelf near the entry includes a custom sea turtle mosaic embedded into the surface, creating a subtle focal point within the pool itself.
Natural stone coping follows the curves of the waterline and helps soften transitions between the pool, landscape, and surrounding hardscape areas.
ILLUMINATING THE LANDSCAPE
Landscape lighting throughout the project changes the atmosphere at night and highlights the movement of the waterfalls, surrounding plant material, and freeform layout of the pool.
The result feels less like a traditional backyard pool and more like a private retreat built directly into the landscape.
